PTA
We are excited to announce that the school has set up a new PTA to continue raising funds for, supporting and engaging the whole parent community in our vibrant, dynamic school.
The new Parent Teacher Association will be a collaboration between dedicated staff members, and parents and carers to support our school, raise vital funds to purchase new equipment or go towards larger projects, and be the voice of our school in the wider community, to further the opportunities and education of our pupils. All parents and carers of children attending Bishop Chavasse, and all teaching and non-teaching staff at the school, will automatically become members of the PTA.
New PTA committee
On Monday 4th November, 20 parents and school staff gathered in the staff room and online for the PTA’s first Annual General Meeting. It was a meeting fizzing with new energy and excitement – even though we had lots of important governance work to get our new constitution and terms of reference in place. Please meet your new committee:
Chair - Annemarie Roberts
Vice Chair - Emma Spencer and Katie Smith (job share)
Treasurer - Louisa Cherry and Sarah Holland (job share)
Secretary - Nicola Stanton
Additional roles
Events leads – Susanna Fabry-Crowe, Passent Horan, Sarah Pullen Underhill
Design lead – Susanna Fabry-Crowe
With special thanks and mention to Alexander Woods, who has provided invaluable governance advice the new PTA and chaired the first AGM.
Please find attached below the minutes of the AGM, the new PTA’s constitution, Terms of Reference and our draft Strategic Plan for 2024-25. We will also be keeping the noticeboard by the entrance gate up to date. We will be sending out a survey soon to gather your thoughts on what the new PTA should focus on for fundraising events, social events, and enrichment for the children – and how we should spend the money we raise.
