Walking Buses

We run two Walking Buses, where parents drop their children off at a meeting point with school staff, who then walk the children to school. This is good for the environment, cutting down on car journeys, and reduces congestion in our school car park - and the children really enjoy it too!

One Walking Bus departs from Tudeley Lane outside Barnes Lodge care home at 8.30am, Monday to Friday. Parents walk or park their car, and bring the children to meet the staff by the concrete barrier outside the care home.

Thanks to our wonderful new neighbours at Hendy Ford, we are now running our new ‘drop and go’ Walking Bus. This is a great alternative to coming in to the school car park to drop your child off in the mornings.

Please see the instructions below with photos.

To get to the drop-off zone, enter Tudeley Lane from the A26 roundabout and take the first right, following the road to the Hendy site. Enter the one-way system in the Hendy car park following it anti-clockwise until you reach the drop-off zone.

When you reach the drop-off zone, a member of school staff will be ready to receive your child/children from the car and take them to the assembly area ready to walk to school. To maintain the flow of traffic, parents and carers must remain in their cars and depart promptly. There will not be the option to park your car and bring them to the drop-off zone, as the car park will be in use by Hendy customers.
